Regenerative agriculture is rooted in diversity.
Healthy food, clean water, living soils and abundant wildlife are outcomes that the Dakota Lakes Research Farm wants to help producers achieve through their regenerative agriculture research. To achieve those outcomes, Dr. Dwayne Beck says it takes a systems approach—where no-till, cover crops and diverse rotations are used together to achieve those outcomes. The systems approach, which relies heavily on diversity, is critical. Beck says that diversity provides a lot of advantages for farmers.
